For the trouble-free operation of the Public Domain Project we need various computers in our headquarter office in Zürich and multiple servers in a data center located in the city of Zürich. The monthly financial costs are expensive to provide you a free download of lossless audio files and financing the operation costs of our project. Please help us with a donation. Thank you very much!

Infrastructure

Rack space

Our rack space currently includes 6U. All the rack space is sponsored by the ITZ of the Zurich University of the Arts. The disk array uses 4U and the two application servers for the encyclopedia and the internet radio are using 2U.

Streaming servers

Init Seven AG is the sponsor of the bandwith for the Public Domain Radio.

The sponsored disk array by Restorm.com includes a Coraid Linux NAS gateway CLN21 and a Coraid EtherDrive SR1521 (15 Disk storage appliance). The disk storage is currently equipped with ten Seagate Barracuda ES.1 750 GB SATA II-hard drives (ST3750640NS) and is expandable to fourteen disks.

Our two HP DL360 G5 Servers are equipped with two quad-core Intel Xeon processors and allows the use of multi-channel audio streaming without upgrading additional rack space. All applications running on the server are virtualized with KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine).
